Taking cues from Four Tet’s sampling trickery and the layered production of Sophie, LUNA is a rising star of UK electronica and one of the brightest talents in Liverpool’s fertile and eclectic scene. Recently announced to perform at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival in May, LUNA has just self-released her debut self-produced EP Hello Earth. The record is packed full of feeling-driven production with sparse textures and glitch-skewed beats, creating tense atmospheres that underscore this artist’s keen ear for storytelling drama. It’s a fusion of styles that mirrors the work of fellow female, self-produced artists Banks and FKA Twigs. ReBalance Finalist of 2019 and LIMF Academy’s Top 3 ‘Most Ready’ Artists of 2019, LUNA has already caught the eye of tastemakers in the industry, having been interviewed on Radio 1 and receiving airplay on the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music, Amazing Radio and Worldwide FM. Other triumphs so far include recording with Steve Levine, performing on the main stage at Liverpool International Music Festival and representing Liverpool on music residencies in both Hannover and Brussels. Now also dipping her toe in the DJ world, LUNA holds down a monthly radio show on Melodic Distraction and has DJ’d at events including LIMF’s VIP party and Future Yard Festival. Friends and fellow experimental Liverpool whizzkids Stealing Sheep have remixed her track 5am, which will be included on a forthcoming 'Hello Earth Remixes' EP.
